Analytical thinking
Module 1
The module will provide an opportunity to deepen self-awareness about one’s own preferences in the area of decision-making. Through the analysis of case studies of varying complexity, participants will have the opportunity to gain insight into their own habits used in daily decision-making. Discussion of the quality of the decisions made will enable reflection and selection of areas of one’s own decision-making competence, the development of which will be the key to increasing self-efficacy in decision-making on the job.
Goals:
- Making a choice between analytical and intuitive thinking – which path to a solution do we prefer and which should be chosen
- Practice seeing relationships and cause-and-effect thinking
- Working with the issue and solutions – case study
Topics:
- Analysis of own competencies in the area of diagnosis and decision-making
- Problem complexity vs. decision-making method: concepts of clueless, intuitive and rational decision-making
- Case study as a tool for work
Module 2
In the second module, participants will have the opportunity to define in a practical way what decision-making is in a business context. To experience this, they will take part in a role-playing training game Fire! In particular, attention will be focused on: the role assumed in the decision-making process, anticipating different scenarios of developments, making decisions under time pressure, and coordinating the work of the team. Another area of analysis will be the degree of risk of the decision to be made (certainty, risk, uncertainty). An important element of this module will be an awareness of the impact of one’s own involvement in the development and implementation of a task versus its effectiveness.
