Discover effective implementations of the Manager Academy in organizations

Integration of New Knowledge (Industry: Labeling and Automation)

Challenge: A company from the labeling and automation sector needed a robust development program for managers, based on identified needs and real business situations. Maximizing the transfer of knowledge into practice was key.

Process: MindLab delivered a Manager Academy in the form of one-day workshops using training games (e.g., “Gold Fever” for delegation). The program included training sessions such as Team Building, Leadership Styles, and Employee Motivation.

Result: By focusing on measurable objectives and practical tasks, participants were able to immediately apply specific skills. A high level of engagement was achieved before, during, and after the training, which supported business objectives.

Strengthening Competencies with MindLab Support (Industry: Real Estate)

Challenge: A real estate company needed an effective system for transferring knowledge after training to prevent it from being quickly forgotten. A tool was needed to support managers in their day-to-day practice.

Process: The Academy delivery (including Motivation/Leadership modules) was supported by a blended learning model. Participants gained access to the MindLab Support Platform, used to download materials and complete implementation tasks.

Result: Continuous access to resources and oversight of implementation tasks via the MindLab Support platform enhanced the durability and effectiveness of the competencies acquired in daily work and problem-solving.

Empowering Line Managers (Industry: FMCG Manufacturing)

Challenge: A global FMCG manufacturing company needed to strengthen the competencies of Front Line Managers (FLMs), who are critical to production continuity and efficiency. The goal was to strengthen authority and improve the ability to handle difficult situations.

Process: Delivery of a specialized FLM Academy focused on crisis team management, building authority, implementing standards, and Action Learning to facilitate experience sharing and diagnose challenging situations.

Result: Increased engagement of front-line staff and a stronger sense of responsibility for operational efficiency. Leaders gained practical tools to maintain discipline and safety, as well as to effectively solve production-related problems.

Discover the MindLab Support Platform – our knowledge hub.

Because training doesn’t end in the classroom.

MindLab Support is a blended learning platform that supports participants’ development beyond the training room. It ensures that the learning process continues after the workshop, giving participants access to materials, exercises, diagnostic tools, and inspiring content that help them reinforce and apply the knowledge gained in their daily work.

The platform offers flexibility – it can be accessed anytime and anywhere, allowing users to adjust the pace of learning to their individual needs. This solution enhances the effectiveness of development programs, strengthens employee engagement, and makes it easier to measure training outcomes.

MindLab Management Training Games

Why games?

  • Games are one of the few training tools that effectively influence attitudes. Participants in the game, by making different decisions, see which ones lead to victory and which ones to defeat. Each game promotes those strategies which are also profitable in professional life.
  • The game experience is very intense. Long after the training, participants remember what happened during the game. They recall the decisions made and their effects. In this way, they consolidate the knowledge and maintain the attitudes they have developed during the training.
  • Playing a training game is a time when trainees can safely test different behaviours. It allows you to look at the chosen strategies from a distance, draw conclusions and consider which ones can be used in everyday work.
  • Training games can be absorbing. Participants quickly forget that they are at a training session. They behave naturally and make spontaneous decisions. By observing the game, the trainer gains rich material for later discussion.

Manager Academy Q & A

C
E
1. Is the academy program fixed, or do you tailor it to the specifics of our industry?

We begin every Manager Academy project with a needs assessment. (interviews, surveys, strategic workshops) to understand the specifics of your industry and the challenges faced by managers. As a result, during the workshops we work with dedicated case studies reflecting the real dilemmas of your organization, rather than abstract examples. This ensures that participants gain tools they can apply immediately.

C
E
2. Why do you use training games when working with management teams?

Proprietary training games by MindLab are advanced business simulations. They create a safe testing environment where managers can try out new strategies, make mistakes, and learn from them without exposing the company to real financial or reputational risk. The game engages participants emotionally and reveals habitual behaviors, enabling much deeper reflection and more lasting changes in attitudes than traditional training formats (such as lectures or standard presentations).

3. How do you ensure that the knowledge gained during the training is applied in everyday work?

For us, training is a process, not a one-time event. We use an approach blended learning, using the proprietary MindLab Support platform. Participants gain access to materials both before the training (pre-work) and afterward (follow-up).. A key element is implementation tasks —specific challenges to be completed on the job, for which participants are held accountable and receive feedback from the trainer. This effectively counteracts the forgetting curve and enhances the transfer of skills to real work situations.

4. What role do participants’ supervisors and the management board play in the academy?

We believe that the proper involvement of management is fundamental to the success of the Academy. We recommend organizing a kick-off meeting with the project sponsor (e.g., CEO, HR Director), which gives the initiative greater significance. We also encourage supervisors to actively support participants in achieving their development goals., for example through dedicated briefing sessions. When the organization’s leadership “backs” the project, participants’ motivation to implement changes increases significantly.

C
E
5. How do you measure the effectiveness of such an academy?

We measure effectiveness on several levels, providing hard data. We use knowledge tests (pre- and post-tests) that clearly show the increase in technical competencies. We analyze the quality of completed implementation tasks, which reflects the practical application of the tools.. Additionally, we collect evaluation surveys, and at the client’s request, we can define behavioral indicators to be monitored during the project and after its completion.

C
E
6. What is the billing model – do we pay per participant or per group?

We prioritize transparency. Our standard model is a daily rate per trainer ,rather than a per-participant fee. This means that the cost of training a group (typically up to 12 participants) is fixed, allowing you to optimize your budget. Pricing is usually comprehensive and already includes logistical costs (trainer travel and accommodation) as well as all preparatory and reporting activities.
