Effect: Change

Player in the Game Effect: Change as your team performs throughout the company-wide change process.

Each player will become the manager of a team of six employees who have just been told that they must implement new norms at work. They are not happy about it, and their attempts to introduce new rules are met with resistance and cause stress in the team. The manager’s task will be to manage employees in such a way that everyone starts working fully in accordance with the new standards.

The training game is intended not only for team leaders, but for all team members. Thanks to it, they will be able to find out what challenges the leader faces and what opportunities he has to deal with them. It is also an opportunity to make players aware that they are part of a team and how important it is to support each other in times of change. It shows that the responsibility for leading change rests with everyone involved, not just the manager.

Effects of the game

  • indicating the need to logically present the meaning of the change,
  • raising awareness of the importance of working with employees’ emotions,
  • noticing the consequences of neglecting or developing the competences of subordinates,
  • training in the selection of forms of coping with frustration and stress,
  • experience of the influence of opinion leaders,
  • testing team structure management in order to use the influence of opinion leaders,
  • showing how important an individual approach to each employee is,
  • checking what happens when people are left to their own devices,
  • analyzing the dynamics of the entire team’s behavior in the change process and the consequences of adapting the leader’s behavior to it
  • practicing the application and consequences of various leader strategies at different stages of change: informing, allowing for mistakes and monitoring.
