Dealing with stress

Participants will learn the method of rational behavior therapy. They will cover topics such as the biological and psychological mechanisms of stress and emotions.

They will also learn how emotions affect behavior, and learn about the ABCD of emotions. They will further focus on topics related to semantics – they will experience how their thinking affects emotions. They will develop healthy semantics regarding the use of language elements with which they negatively affect each other. On the second day of the training, participants will continue working on semantics. They will learn a tool for working with beliefs – the RSA method – which they will practice by working on examples from their own lives. Next, they will learn the principles of healthy thinking and explore the neurophysiology of emotions, behavior and habits. Finally, they will learn how to cope with change, build motivation for change,
and better understand the process of change.

Knowledge

  • rational behavior therapy
  • ABCD neurophysiology of emotions
  • RSA – schema for working with beliefs
  • principles of healthy thinking
  • semantics

Results

  • participants understand their own behavioral mechanisms,
  • participants are able to use semantics in working with emotions,
  • participants know how to start thinking in a healthy way,
  • participants take responsibility for their emotions and behavior.

Training methods

Participants will take part in group and individual exercises, thought experiments that will help them to become aware of their beliefs. Using examples from their lives they will develop healthy semantics.
