Management by Objectives

During this training, which will begin with a game of Gold Rush, participants will confront their own effectiveness in setting strategy, goals, planning communication, and building commitment and a sense of impact on the team’s outcome by employees. They will also experience the consequences of actions taken by themselves and others.

During a mini-lecture, they learn about the system of managing a company through management by objectives (MBO). Then, working in groups, they develop the requirements and learn about the benefits of implementing and operating an MBO system. Through a game they will understand the importance of clear and understandable communication and through the SMART or GROW methods they will practice methods,
they will practice setting goals correctly. Finally, they will learn three conversation patterns: planning, monitoring and summarizing. They will practice them during staged antecedents and conversations based on current challenges in the organisation.

  • participants are able to use planning, monitoring and debriefing interviews,
  • participants are aware of how people and organisational management can be made more effective through the MBO system.
